Here's our Yggdrasil War Shield, it has been cut from a solid sheet of 3/8" plywood and cased in glue and linen on the face of the shield making this shield stronger than the plank style shields our Ancestors used. It has been hand painted with Yggdrasil (Odin's Horse), the famous world ash tree. Yggdrasil is commonly known in Norse culture when Odin hung himself from the tree, carving out his eye for knowledge, but this tree can be seen in many other cultures around the globe today. The shield edge is wrapped in leather and adorned with decorative tacks and stained on the back, along with our Odin's plunder runes, forearm strap, and Raven and included back strap D-rings to attach the back strap.
