This is our Viking rune war shield, and it Measures 32" in diameter and was cut from a solid piece of 1/2" plwood making it stronger than the ones our Ancestors carried.. It has been hand painted with a traditional design commonly used in the Viking era and wrapped with leather around the border with decorative tacks. This shield has been glued with linen on the front and the back with a glue stain to give it the distressed look. It also has been adorned with runes, Raido-(journey), Algiz-(protection), Tiwaz-(warrior/strength), and Wunjo-(Success). The shield boss has been attached using modern Chicago screws to secure it to the shiel and give it a nice look. It also has strap D-rings on the back to attach a back strap to carry on your back when not in battle (Note: back strap in the photos are sold as a option with the shield for an extra $50, select option below) Don't miss out on this affordable Norse inspired Viking war shield.
